Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection - REVIEW

Perdon que haya estado desaparecido tanto tiempo! Llevo desde hace mas de tres semanas completamente enviciado con este juego para PSP. No habia podido jugar o dedicarme a otro hobby (como bloggear) mientras no terminara FFIV CC. Bueno, pues por fin el dia de ayer en la madrugada llegue con el ultimo jefe de The After Years y disfrute nuevamente del emotivo ending, dado por terminado (espero) de forma definitiva Final Fantasy IV and its sequel, The Years After forever ... such was this experience for me, a player who knows FFIV from head to toe? and The After Years to the core? Well, read my review below.

An Introduction
Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy is perhaps the most important of all time. Important because it defined the way that Final Fantasy would be from there onwards. Sure, in previous titles had already been shown the system works, which prevails until entries newer and spin offs. And Leveling systems and character development, although not defined, had shown signs of innovation in each new installment, which continues changing even today.

what he said was the way of storytelling. And not just for Final Fantasy. The melodrama created for this game forever changed the way in which a serious story told in console RPGs, and from there the other games have been better (or worse) already established by this game. Yes, today the story of FFIV is pretty basic (and its sequel a bit clichosa) but in time I believe a paradigm and we get used to that level of quality.

Well then at risk of losing the account, Final Fantasy IV has been remade and released in Japan about 7 or 8 times ... in America has been released on this compilation 6 times. I have the version of Playstation, Game Boy Advance the Nintendo DS and PSP this latest version, I know all the changes made to each of the versions, I know the differences and tweaks that were made to each. If a tree a changed version of place, I know.

For the sequel, which first appeared on cell phones and then only on Wiiware Jspon for everyone, I can not attack much. And this game gives you definitely need to consider the aesthetics of the final version. Graphics

graphic power of the PSP is well known. It is certainly the most impressive portable system today (even more impressive than the 3DS I must say). Dissidia games like 012, 3rd Birthday (expect the review soon) and other have shown what the system is truly capable. So take me by surprise after he removed the most "stunning" 3D remake for the Nintendo DS, this version "definitive" have 2D graphics.

Do not worry, if 2D graphics, but they are in high definition, the purest style of Final Fantasy 1 and 2 PSP. Detailed graphics (I swear I see the aretitos and ornaments to battle models of my characters!) And bright colors, beautiful 2D effects and magic spells (finally a decent Meteor! And Years After Bands are amazing) and 2 FMV impressive introduction to the two games included.

You have to be honest, though Final Fantasy IV DS love the graphic style was quite square, and the same graph to the battle system slower, not processing power, but was rather a negative effect of the transition to 3D more fluid movements and as many effects, it was natural that the battles were slow. But in this version everything returns to as it should be, fast battles and stylized but simple graphics. And I tell the truth? I prefer the graphic style. Sound

Not much to say about the sound. The OST of Final Fantasy IV is known as one of the best in the saga. This game gives you the option to choose if you want the original OST SNES and PS1 version, or if you want the fixed OST the DS version. I obviously prefer the fixed version, because I think that goes better with the bright new visual.

As for the music of The After Years already know how I feel about it. It's pretty good, new songs are incredibly good though did not Nobuo Uematsu, and several new issues come from my favorite FF of all time (Survival of the Fittest! The Eidolons Shackled!). No doubt you have left is the best musical combination of classic and new.

FFIVCC Gameplay is divided into three parts. The first is the classic Final Fantasy IV. The second the Interlude. Both share the basic aspects of game: Fighting random Leveling system experience, using ATB battles (the color bars are full and commandos can take action), browsing, buying and searching for new equipment, etc. A basic RPG in every sense of the word. Oh yeah, and if you wonder which version of FFIV is included, is the Game Boy Advance, including the ability to switch characters at the end, additional cells after the final boss with challenges and new equipment. In my opinion, the best version of all.

The sequel, The After Years presented above, and adds a set of combination of techniques from the Chrono Trigger character, here called BANDS. How about combining Cecil, Kain and Rosa for a technique that heals and brings beneficial states the team. Or a technique that combines the children of the main characters in a comical circus act that ends in tragedy for the opponents, or the technique of dream "Final Fantasy" with 5 classic characters? The combinations are many, and there for all time and situation.

also Bands system, also incorporates the system of lunar phases, depending on the stage at which the moon is, certain commands will lose or gain power in battle. Do not go with a group of black magicians in New Moon for example, because its black magic power reduces by 50%. But it takes physically strong characters in a Waning Moon, as his command to attack to win power. The combinations between characters do must be balanced so that the moon phase does not affect the performance of your computer, which adds a layer of strategy to the planning, though very slight, but it is an important addition.

While Interlude FFIV and follow a basic story line, FF IV The After Years in the original release was developed through a set of downloadable chapters. Each month Square Enix has launched a group for affordable new chapters, for installation on your system. Obviously it is not necessary here, although some chapters at the beginning you have blocked, you can choose the one you want, and play them in the order you want.

While for many this is good for me takes away a large part of what The After Years did so good in the first place. The episodic system could allow him to devote all the time in the world to a certain chapter and finish at 100% before starting the other (because the chapters was released one month apart), and you could try to fill the gaps in history as a new chapter came out. The fact that you have all pressed together to end quickly, and continue the story immediately. And so it was not planned this game.
chapters
The system presents you with a combination of old and new dungeons, old and new allies and enemies and a predictable but exciting story, much like the new school of Square Enix games. After the story of a certain chapter you can record your progress and continue again to unlock additional dungeon chapter, where in addition to Level to your troops to the maximum level (40 for most of the chapters) you can find Equipment powerful and special items that when being imported into the final chapter (which is unlocked by completing all chapters) gives you far ahead with new armor, weapons, accessories, and even to meet certain conditions, new characters for your brave team of warriors.

The interlude is just a short story between FFIV and its sequel, which takes place a couple of years after the final battle. Lasts a couple of hours only and is very basic. It's worth just for que une las historias, pero no esperes nada especial.

Juntos viviran derrotas, traiciones, muertes de cercanos compaƱeros, sacrificios, y demas, todo para vencer a un villano que amenaza con quebrantar peace throughout the world using the world's strongest army, that of Baron. It's a legendary story that shows how good always triumphs over evil, although this will always be in all hearts. Interlude

FFIV tells the events after FFIV, and Rydia as a clone of the blue planet arrives and begins to manipulate the Eidolons to achieve a stranger. This woman does not know anything until 17 years later. FFIV

The After Years occurs 17 years after the original game and is divided into 10 chapters, which delves into familiar characters and many new, and how the world begins to change because of a new moon that comes suddenly to the blue planet , and shows no signs to stop its path of collision with it. The monsters become more aggressive, Eidolons are manipulated and used as objects of war by a mysterious girl with supernatural powers, and the crystals once again at risk.

Together, our familiar heroes, and a bunch of new characters should clear up the mystery that brings the new moon, the girl who roams the world killing and collecting crystals, and old terrorists that are coming back to haunt Race blue planet. The secret behind the crystal (this and several universes FF) is to unveil this incredibly good story with average gameplay.

Conclusion Let us examine the midpoint. For one low price you get one of the best RPG's of history, carefully balanced and care to the smallest detail, in its improved version, while its sequel, which will guarantee up to 100 hours together juego.Si forget by a moment that there are 6 versions available in America (forgot Wii Virtual Console), this compilation "definitive" is for you. Now only one question remains: How much time will pass so that they release the version "definitely final? I do not know, but now I can die in peace, without more Final Fantasy IV ... Now follow the V and VI.
