My Havanese Puppy Wont Stop Biting Me

PREVIEW - REVIEW

I'ma huge fan of simulation games ... maybe ever noticed my love for the Harvest Moon series . But whether farms, small towns or people pretending that I really enjoy the activities I do in real life, that is simply intoxicating.

Well, imagine my surprise when I took a few months ago in Apple appstore a small little game called "Game Developer Story", the game puts you in the shoes of a guy with money to start his own business games, back in the decade of the 80's and whose task is to climb to the top of developers worldwide through recruitment, acquisition of licenses for programming in different systems, and obtaining resources until you can even create your own console or better, win prizes of criticism about your performance ...

obviously excites me, because my childhood dream was to program video games ... or not?

Graphics
Kairosoft koreana is a small company, which know the beginning, but since the po know this entertaining game, have launched two others with similar theme, so I guess only do this kind of games, and share the same graphic style. The characters are small and big heads, which helps you identficar specialty and occupation in your company based on what they wear, which is useful.

scenarios and environments are simple and without much detail, but not interact much with them (not with the characters directly), so it does not matter much. Its simple graphic to After effectively fulfill its mission, which is to illustrate what happens in your office so cute and funny (yeah, "cute" is the way they classify their graphics).

And as seen everything on the screen of the iPhone? a little tight, but it affects the gameplay and definitivaente is very easy to see everything happening on the screen and not feel overwhelmed by the amount of information, and believe me, you have to pay attention to all if you want to go far.

Sound
The music is repetitive, there are only about 3 tones throughout the game, and the sound effects sometimes do not have reason to be, but hey, it's a game and no sound would be quite disconcerting. Basically the music and effects must be there because they should be.

Gameplay You start with a low amount of resources, a small office with 4 computer equipment, a secretary, and encouragement to shine in the world of video game development. The way you go from there is your own desicion.

The game takes you by the hand the first "months" that are divided into weeks, basically lasts one week 10 seconds or less in real time. at the end of 12 months will be extracted from your funds to pay salaries, which are dependent upon the type of your workers, and their level of performance.

You'll have to start hiring the right foot with your projects, which can be internal (new software) or external (development of special effects for a movie, a game FMV for other competing companies, etc). There are different types of units contracted, and obviously each one has its pros and cons. A programmer is good at the computer, but bad for the rest. A graphic artist is good at drawing, but bad for making a sound, a writer is good for new and interesting concepts wrong to draw, etc. Create your balanced team is a necessity.

internal game development on the other side is a more automated process yet. Simply choose the genre and the console (which will open up as you go over the years) and your monkey will do the rest. How well should play in development? depends on your level of experience and atibutos, same as you can improve in exchange for special items that will get gradually.

Your game will be released and will be sold a few months before leaving to give you money. Your goal is to create games that are recognized in front of your fans (which vary depending on the age and tastes) based on different types of games (shooters, RPGs, racing, etc. that will open as do games) and total quality (which increase the more experience you have your computer).

The most complex is the administration of resources. The creation of games is the most important, of course, but keep in mind things typical of this industry, such as advertising, or console sales numbers (to determine which console to get both license, or for which console to develop), journals and reviews, fan letters, different age groups (which change over time), hiring (and firing) staff, exhibitions and give you reputation and fans, the annual awards to the best of the game .. . eventually make a sequel to a best seller (which guarantees you a certain number of sales) or a franchise, the possibilities are endless.

Everything costs money, so how much money you will use for everything depends on you, the administrator of the company.

Conclusion
Game Developer Story is the most addictive I've played in my life. Take it, and suddenly you play 6 hours of your life have been sucked from you without you realizing (and you realize that just your iPhone's battery). There is a lot to unlock (gender, class, options) and the replay value is very high (for only 40 pesos). Definitely one of the best games I've tested in IOS, which also made me see that I never wanted to be a game programmer, but a good administrator.

Game Developer Story: 9 / 10
+ Excellent and addictive gameplay
+ Lots of references to the history of video games since 1980
+ Choices, choices and options! -Musica
